BookReview: I Heart New York by Lindsey Kels

Hey lovelies, I'm back with another book review. I went back to my hometown to visit my parents for 2 days and I didn't bring my laptop with me, because I didn't want to travel with any baggage - all I had was my everyday bag. Which led to the inevitable question what should I do? I went out with friends, did some errands but you can't spend every moment with other people, at least I can't. So, I searched through my personal library at home for quick short entertaining read that wouldn't be too serious. It's safe to say that I didn't have any expectations about this book, since it came with one issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and I didn't even have any idea how it came to my possession. GoodReads Summary: Get ready to meet Angela Clark as she flees the world’s worst wedding for a new life… It's official. Angela Clarke is in love – with the most fabulous city in the world. Fleeing her cheating boyfriend and clutching little more than a cru...

BookReview: The Power of the Pussy by Kara King

Hey lovelies, I've been trying to write the introduction to today's book review and I've been having the hardest time. Honestly, I don't even have a good explanation why I started reading it. I mean... just look at the cover and the very first words "If men are dogs... this is animal control", and the whole "how to get what you want from men...". It just all sounds too manipulating and ludicrous for my taste. GoodReads Summary: Kara King's controversial book, "The Power of the Pussy", shares 12 powerful secrets that will transform any woman into the type of strong, desirable woman that can effortlessly obtain what she wants from men; including the love, respect and relationship she desires.  In this book you'll learn valuable lessons that will teach you how to...  ~Flip the switch in your female brain, so you can beat men at their own game...  ~Have men lining up to date you and desperate for your attention...  ~Heal from a br...

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Hey guys, I know I'm always late to the hype but I finally managed to get my hands on a copy of this book. I had it on my to-read shelf on Goodreads even before it was published, and  totally forgot about it. I came across the book absolutely randomly and remembered wanting to read it when I updated my status. Summary: After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating....

Pan that Palette Challenge Final Thoughts

Hey guys, this time last year I embarked on the challenge of finishing an eye-shadow pallet in one year. I choose the BBB palete by Makeup Revolution. Honestly, I had no hope of actually finishing all 30 shades. And I was right. Did I succeed in the challenge? The objective answer is no. However, if you ask me I did better than expected. Usually I don't wear makeup. I mean, I do, but if it all depends on how I'm feeling. I learned couple of things doing this challenge. One is that I gravitate towards darker palletes when browsing, but I prefer the lighter shades being on my eyes. Also it turns out I've picked up on some things watching YouTube tutorials (I still suck, don't get me wrong). The most consecutive times I've worn makeup was 15 days. I mastered a 10 minute quick look, which I think looks good in real life, however on camera it still looked like I was with bare face. Another thing which I learned is that sometimes using your fingers is better than a...

Iron Crowned by Richelle Mead

Hey guys, this is the third book out of four in Richelle Mead's series called the Dark Swan. After the events in the second one I was pretty excited to read it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. GoodReads Summary: An embattled mystically entwined with our own, the Otherworld is at the mercy of one woman...   Shaman-for-hire Eugenie Markham is the best at banishing entities trespassing in the mortal realm. But as the Thorn Land’s queen, she’s fast running out of ways to end the brutal war devastating her kingdom. Her only hope: the Iron Crown, a legendary object even the most powerful gentry fear… Who Eugenie can trust is the hardest part. Fairy king Dorian has his own agenda for aiding her search. And Kiyo, her shape-shifter ex-boyfriend, has every reason to betray her along the way. To control the Crown’s ever-consuming powers, Eugenie will have to confront an unimaginable temptation--one that will put her soul and the fate of two worlds in mortal peril…...

Thorn Queen by Richelle Mead

Hey guys, I read the second book the Dark Swan series, which apparently I've also read before but have no memory of it. At all. GoodReads Summary: Eugenie Markham is a shaman for hire. She's paid to bind and banish creatures from the Otherworld. But something happened after her last battle. She became queen of the Thorn Land. With her kingdom in tatters, her love life in chaos, and eager to avoid the prophecy about her firstborn destroying mankind, the job's really not all it's cracked up to be. Now young girls are disappearing from the Otherworld, and no one seems willing to find out why. Or to put an end to it. Not that Eugenie's fazed by spilling fey blood, but this enemy is shrewd, subtle, and dangerous -- and nursing a very personal grudge. Eugenie must venture deep into the Otherworld and trust in a power she can barely control. She may be a reluctant queen, but she's vowed to do her duty, even if it means facing the darkest and deadliest side of her ...
